1. Creating the MLA formatted paper.
Let’s look at the Purdue OWL in the link below: This will let you see the guide we will be using – you do not have to learn it -it is only a resource and support to help you write your academic papers using MLA format – This guide can also help you write in other styles such as APA and Chicago style. We only use MLA in my course. I hope some of these links help you – did you find better ones?

Your Turn!
1. Open a BLANK WORD DOC. Do not use Google, pages, or a PDF.
Then create your own MLA formatted page for this assignment by watching the video. Need Help? I will be holding MLA LIVE workshops each evening on Zoom from 9 PM – 11 PM AZ time on Wednesday and Thursday 9/17 and 9/18 AZ Time, Day and Date.

Some Corrections to the video if you do not have the latest version of
MS Word:
a. You do not have to check for margins. If you are using MS Word, you will automatically have one-inch margins all the way around.
b. In the Header, I do not want you to use our Section Number for my class.
c. Some of you may have to do the following to get to your pages: Click on the word Insert from the Home page/button on the top menu of the MS Word program to create your pages. Next, find the box that says Page Number and click on the arrow down (menu) and Click on Top of the Page and then Plain Number 3. The rest of the Instructions are ok to use in the Video!
d. In the body paragraphs, he is using non words and just hitting the keys on the keyboard after the first sentence of each paragraph simply to show you what the body paragraphs will look like in MLA format and how to create them! You can use your own "dkgealikgraeitgae” if you like as well. Just make sure you have the same number of make-believe sentences to understand paragraph construction in MLA format, OK? e. The Title you will use on the formatted paper is the same that was used in the video: How to Format a Paper in MLA Style.

4. Post your MLA paper to the Canvas Assignment Area found in Module Two called (click on the link in Canvas to get to it): MLA Creation Due Sunday: 21 September before 11:59 PM.
