Submission requirements for Assessment 3

Part 1 - Final Pitch

During tutorials in week 11, you will deliver your presentation of Assessment 3. Your group will pitch your idea (5 minutes) and respond to questions (approx. 5 minutes).

Part 2 - Pitch Deck & Appendices

You must also prepare a pitch deck (i.e. ppt slides) and appendices that provide evidence and justification for your idea. The pitch deck should incorporate insights from Assessment 2.

You need to upload these documents to Canvas before your final pitch. The pitch deck and appendices allow you to include additional material that you do not cover in your 6-minute Pitch.

A designated person in your team will need to submit your pitch deck and appendices in one PDF file to Canvas by 11.59pm on the day before your allocated tutorial time in week 11.

-      Submit the digital PDF with the following file naming convention:

81516_TutorLastName _TeamName_Pitch

-      You will need to ensure the following details are included on the cover page in your PDF file: Full names of each team member and student numbers

Important: remember to include a summary of insights from mentor engagement as an Appendix to your report:

-      You will be allocated to a mentoring session to attend in week 8. In this session, groups will present and discuss their work-in-progress for Assessment 3 with practitioners and industry experts, who will offer mentorship and advice.

-      Guidance on what groups should document from the session are provided on

Canvas– they include thematic insights as well as experiential insights about the process of the work- e.g. emotions, ideas, critical reflections, and/or questions that the session generated for the team.

Part 3- Subject showcase

Selected teams from this semester’s cohort will be invited to ‘pitch’ their ideas to external guests during week 12. These showcase presentations won’t be marked and are optional for  the invited groups to participate in. They provide a way to celebrate excellence and present an opportunity for students to share their ideas with practitioners from industry.

Late and incomplete assignments

Assignments submitted after the due time/date will incur late penalties. Work submitted up to 7 days* later than the deadline should have either approval from their Subject Coordinator prior  to the due date (with appropriate Doctor’s certificate or equivalent documentation) or a special consideration, otherwise the Subject Coordinator will apply the following penalties:

●    Up to 1 day late (24 hours from the specified deadline): 5% late reduction

●    Up to 2 days late: 10% late reduction

●    Up to 3 days late: 15% late reduction

●    Up to 4 days late: 20% late reduction

●    Up to 5 days late: 25% late reduction

●    Up to 6 days late: 30% late reduction

●    Up to 7 days late: 35% late reduction

●    Over 7 days late: NOT ACCEPTED

●    The 5% per day penalty is applied to the mark that would have been received if the submission had been on time.

●    Any work submitted after 7 days late will need a Special Consideration document to be accepted for assessment.

●    Students cannot expect to receive verbal or written feedback for late work.

* If equipment or software is not available for students to complete a late submission, then the Subject Coordinator may decide to exclude weekends from the number of days late in calculating the penalty.
