COURSE WORK

Quizzes: Online quizzes will cover material from the lectures and any additional resources provided that week. Each quiz consists of multiple choice, matching, and/or short answer questions. Quizzes will be open note and students will have one attempt at the quiz. Time to complete each quiz and point values will vary and are listed in the details for that quiz. Due dates are listed in ICON.

Online Discussions: Discussions will be based on questions or activity prompts from the instructor relevant to the week’s topic. Students will answer instructor questions and then discuss the questions with others. Participation in each online discussion is worth 10 points. Individual instructions and due dates are listed on ICON.

Assignments: Students are required to complete and submit individual assignments. These are intended to reinforce the week’s topic and provide students with hands on experience. Assignments should be submitted electronically via the ICON “Assignments” page. Due dates, point values, and details are listed on ICON.

Certification Exam: Students will sit for the actual Microsoft Azure Fundamentals (AZ:900) certification exam. After successfully completing the exam, you will be certified through Microsoft. The exam will be given during the last week of class at the North Campus Testing Center (Chemistry building). Details about scheduling and registering will be posted on ICON.

Scoring breakdown:

Points        Note

610/609     Fall 2021 mean/median score (BAIS:x400) – 25% passed.

764/760     Fall 2022 mean/median score (BAIS:x400) – 82% passed.

734/760     Fall 2023 mean/median score (BAIS:x400) – 70% passed.

For grading purposes, the maximum score on this certification exam will be 77.

To calculate your BAIS:3400 grade based on your certification exam score:

(your AZ:900 certification exam score / 10) / 77

If I scored a 901: (901 / 10) / 77 = 117% (max 100%)

If I scored a 701: (701 / 10) / 77 = 91%

If I scored a 569: (569 / 10) / 77 = 74%

Final Exam: There is no final exam in this class. You have nothing to do for this class during finals week.
