Assignment:
Write a Business Proposal consisting of Executive Summary, Background, Business Proposal, Qualitative Analysis & Recommendations (800 +/- 10% words excluding Executive Summary)

Core Task Requirements
All core task requirements must be fulfilled for successful submission.
You must:
a. write a proposal for a business connected to your degree subject;
b. include all relevant sections: Executive Summary, Background, Business Proposal, Qualitative Analysis & Recommendations, and the Reference List. Each section must include a section heading;
c. Reference at least 1 of the key areas taught in weeks 3-5 and how this relates to the business sector;
d. write 800 words (+/- 10% words excluding any titles, Executive Summary, and the reference list);
e. include a minimum of four (4) academic sources published in English;
f. cite and reference all sources using the XJTLU Harvard Referencing System.

IMPORTANT: The FWCW is directly linked to other EAP105 assessments including In-Class Task 2 (ICT2) and In-Class Task 3 (ICT3) in semester 1, and forms the basis of the Project Writing Component (PWC) and Project Speaking Component (PSC) in semester 2. These tasks are worth up to a total of 60% of your module mark.

• Please remember that dropbox submissions cannot be changed once the submission deadline has passed. It is the responsibility of the student to check the correct file is submitted and that it can be opened.

Further Details
This FWCW covers the first sections of the Business Evaluation Report you will write for your Project Writing Component in semester 2. In-Class Task 2,submission of a Source Integration Chart (SIC), is directly linked to the sources you use in this FWCW.
Additionally, the Qualitative Analysis and Recommendations sections will be required for the Project Speaking Component in semester 2, when you will pitch your business idea through a poster presentation. For further information and details please refer to the relevant Project & ICT Task Sheets on Learning Mall.
Marking and Feedback
• You will be given an individual feedback checklist on this essay at the end of Week 10. You must use this information to prepare questions for the In-Class Task 3 tutorial sessions in Week 11/12 where you should ask your lecturer questions and engage in a discussion that will help you to understand how to further improve your FWCW task.
• You should then use this feedback to improve your writing in preparation for completing the whole Business Evaluation Report in semester 2.
• Feedback will be provided in line with standardized requirements agreed on EAP105.
• Individual marks will not be provided for this formative task.

Plagiarism (copying directly from the source without proper citation), collusion (working with others or copying directly from your peer when you are required to work individually) and any other instances of academic dishonesty will not be marked and you will not receive feedback.

Lateness
• Work submitted after the deadline will not be marked and you will not receive feedback. This will then impact other related assessments such as In-Class Task 3 (5%) and the EAP105 Project (50%).
