Students are asked to write a report with no less than 1,000 words from the following Case Study:
Case Study Introduction
Role One: Wang, Beijing drifters
He graduated from the university one year ago. His job is a company's sales staff with lower income. He rents a room with others, and the living area is very small, so he wants to use space as much as possible. Wang is an otaku, his only hobby is playing online games, "World of Warcraft" is his favorite.
Budget: $ 850
Role Two: Qian, Professional player
He is a signing gamer of a Beijing club, and also a game team captain. He is very good at DOTA2 and Warcraft III. His wish is to participate in 2022 WESG (World Electronic Sports Games) and expect to get rank. He likes racing games very much in his rest time. His salary is not bad. However, he must make more efforts before he becomes famous.
Budget: $ 2,300
Role Three: Li, White-collar
She is a white-collar worker in a foreign company in Beijing with a good income. Her usual work is to deal with the company's legal matters, such as contract drafting, auditing, etc. Her work is very busy, so she often takes the work home. In the rest time, she very likes movies. Since there is no more time to go to the cinema, she often downloads HD movies(about 10-15 GB per movie) from the Internet. Although she only watched a small percentage of the movies she had downloaded, she always keeps these movies in her disks and think that she will have time to finish them slowly.

Role Four: Zhang, Student.
She is a student who plans to study abroad after she graduated from high school. She want to study Digital Media Design, and she already began to study some art design software, such as photoshop、illustrator、3D Max and so on. She is also interested in electronic music, and wants to edit the music she plays by a music editor program.
Budget: $ 1,350
Report Requirements
You can choose TWO roles and produce a recommendation report for them that includes:
1. Introduction to the background or purpose of this assignment.
2. Introduction to the related technology knowledge points, such as system unit, input/output devices, Storage Device, Communication Devices, etc.
3. Analysis for these two roles’ requirements.
4. Recommendations
This is a computer components list of what they would need to meet their actual requirements including:
o System unit (CPU, Mainboard, Memory, Graphic card, etc.)
o Input/Output devices(Display, Keyboard, Mouse, etc.)
o Secondary Storage (Disk, or Optical Disc)
o Other peripherals or software (such as joy stick, printer, audio output device, photoshop, etc.)
o Software, such as the operating system, some design Tools, etc.
Included in this overview is: WHAT is required and the REASONS behind each recommendation.
Only DIY desktop computer is allowed. You can not select the brand whole computer, laptop, tablet, smartphone, etc.
All components must have information, such as name, model, price, number, etc.
5. Budget
o A budget table for each component and a budget summary for the total costs.
