Lab 1: PDM Network Drawing & Calculation
Create a precedence diagram network for the construction of a simplified two story building project using the activities and durations contained in the attached activity list. Develop the schedule logic, draw the logic diagram and calculate the schedule using the intuitive method with the assumption that all activities are continuous. Show early event times, late event times and total float for each activity written on your network diagram. Define the longest path in your network.
• The building consists of two floors on a poured concrete basement foundation. The construction is wood framing and sheathing covered by exterior siding.
• Right after Award, the contractor is to contact the utility company to mark out the utility locations on site. Utilities must be relocated after the site is cleared and before the foundation excavation can begin.
• The contractor plans on starting the HVAC rough in 3 workdays before the plumbing rough in starts for both first and second floors (use a SS-FF relationship).
• Electrical work cannot start prior to building watertight.
• Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be granted 4 workdays after the award of the contract.
